  • All matches are equal for me: Saha
  • Sarfaraz has scored plenty of runs in the last 4-5 years: Saha
  • Jurel's batting is outstanding: Saha

Former Indian wicket keeper Wriddhiman Saha has opined on the controversy surrounding Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan not having their contracts renewed due to their lack of commitment to playing domestic red ball cricket for India. “That is the BCCI's decision and the personal decision of the concerned players. Forcefully, you can't do anything. Whenever I am fit I play, even I play club matches, office matches as well. I always treat a match as a match. All matches are equal for me. If every player thinks on those lines, they will only prosper in their career and it will be better for Indian cricket as well. I feel the importance of domestic cricket is always there because if I talk about Sarfaraz Khan, he has scored plenty of runs in the last 4-5 years. Definitely, he has delivered,” he said. Wriddhiman Saha represents Tripura in Ranji Trophy after having fallen out of favour among selectors after December 2021.

Wriddhiman Saha was also quite impressed by Indian wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel’s performance against England. “I have never seen Jurel in domestic cricket, even in Test matches I have seen him in highlights. But his batting is outstanding, he won the last Test for the team,” he stated.
