An air passenger on Air India flight from Bengaluru to New Delhi had a nasty and shocking experience on the flight. He was shocked to find a cockroach in his meal offered by Air India on its flight.
An entrepreneur from Bengaluru, Praveen Vijaysingh, found a dead cockroach in the food served to him on the flight and he realised it only after consuming sambar. Ignoring his grievance and showing neglect to this incident, a flight attendant calls it a curry leave without keening noticing it and asks him to have meal.
Following the incident, the airline offered to reimburse the full fare of his flight ticket to compensate him for the incident, but he refused to accept this compensation.
This incident took place on flight No. AI 513 that took off from 7.05am from Kempegowda International Airport.
Praveen is a co-founder of an IT and telecom firm in Bengaluru. “I am a strict vegetarian and requested for a vegetarian breakfast of idli, sambar and croissant. With idli, I took sambar and after noticing something unusual spat out the food. To my horror, I found a dead cockroach. I called for the flight purser and informed him. To my utter surprise, the purser insisted that it was not a cockroach but curry leaf and I should consume it.” quoted The New Indian Express as told by Praveen.
Praveen had to wait for over two hours to just complain about the incident to the authorities concerned after alighting flight at New Delhi.
The airline regretted the incident and extended its apology to the guest.
