Amid the relentless downpour that has left large parts of Bengaluru flooded, a distressing incident unfolded live on News First when a Swiggy delivery boy slipped and fell in knee-deep water during a broadcast from Koramangala’s Sixth Cross. The footage, which has since gone viral, captured the young man losing balance while navigating the submerged street, highlighting the dangerous reality faced by delivery workers during extreme weather.

The incident occurred in one of the worst-hit parts of the city, where homes are half-submerged and essential household items like refrigerators and gas cylinders were seen floating indoors. One resident, returning from the hospital after his wife’s discharge, was devastated to find his house completely underwater. He broke down in tears in front of the news camera, describing the destruction of his belongings and the trauma of the night.
The video of the delivery boy’s fall has sparked fresh outrage among citizens, who are already blaming the BBMP for repeated failures in managing flood-prone areas. Overflowing drains, clogged culverts, and poorly maintained rajakaluves have once again exposed the city’s inadequate infrastructure.
With traffic snarls, stranded vehicles, and flooded metro stations, Bengaluru’s “Silicon City” image is sinking—along with the trust of its people—under the weight of mismanagement and monsoon misery.
