Hoping to seal the series after wins in Kolkata and Chennai, India faltered under pressure. The opening partnership failed to deliver as Sanju Samson departed for a mere 2 runs. Abhishek Sharma provided a brief spark with a quick 24 off 14 balls, including five boundaries, before falling to a catch.

Skipper Suryakumar Yadav struggled, managing only 14 runs, while Tilak Verma added 18. The middle-order collapse left India in dire straits.
Hardik Pandya stood out as the lone warrior, scoring a resilient 40 runs, including one four and two sixes. However, his effort wasn’t enough to rescue the team. Axar Patel contributed 15 runs, while others, including Washington Sundar (6) and Shami (7), failed to make a significant impact.

England’s bowlers dominated, with Jamie Overton, Jofra Archer, and Brydon Carse each taking two wickets. Their disciplined attack ensured India remained on the back foot throughout the innings.
