In a nationally televised address at 8 PM, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared the success of Operation Sindoor, hailing the Indian armed forces for executing a “decisive and necessary” military response. “This operation was for those terrorists who wiped the sindoor off Indian women’s foreheads,” he said, referencing the brutal Pahalgam terror attack that served as the trigger point.

Pakistan Exposed and Cornered
The Prime Minister accused Pakistan of orchestrating coordinated attacks on Indian schools, colleges, religious sites, and military installations, leading to civilian and structural damage. “Pakistan’s true face has been unmasked,” Modi said, adding that over 100 terrorists were eliminated in retaliatory strikes. He revealed that a desperate and “helpless” Pakistan reached out to India on May 10, seeking a ceasefire.
Targeting Terror at Its Root
Highlighting India’s strategic response, Modi stated: “With one stroke, we targeted terror headquarters inside Pakistan. We took the fight to their heart and inflicted unimaginable damage in just three days.” The Prime Minister reiterated India’s stance of **zero tolerance towards terrorism, saying, “We will not be blackmailed by nuclear threats.”
Push for Indigenous Power
He also emphasized the importance of Made-in-India weapons, calling them key to India’s modern defence posture. “Buddha stood for peace—but peace cannot coexist with terror and betrayal,” Modi concluded.
Talks Only on Terror and PoK
Prime Minister Modi firmly stated that if any dialogue with Pakistan were to take place, it would focus solely on two issues: cross-border terrorism and the status of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He ruled out any broader engagement until these core concerns are addressed, underlining India’s uncompromising stance on national security and territorial integrity.
This was the first address the PM made after the Pahalgam attacks on Indian soil.
