In a key development following days of heightened tensions, the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan held a formal conversation today. The discussion focused on reaffirming the commitment to peace along the Line of Control and international borders.

According to a statement from the Indian Army, both sides agreed that no aggressive action or firing should be initiated by either military moving forward. The conversation was aimed at preventing further escalation and stabilizing the fragile ceasefire that has taken hold after the high-intensity conflict earlier this week.
Significantly, both DGMOs agreed on the need to implement immediate measures for troop reduction from forward areas and border zones—signaling the beginning of a tentative de-escalation process.
The talks mark the first official military-level communication since the conflict reached its peak, with both nations suffering casualties and infrastructure damage. The dialogue is being viewed as a cautiously optimistic step toward maintaining peace, even as political and diplomatic conversations remain frozen.
While the situation remains sensitive, military sources say both sides have kept communication lines open to prevent misjudgments and ensure the ceasefire holds in the days to come.
