The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Tuesday reiterated India’s unwavering position that all issues related to Jammu and Kashmir must be addressed bilaterally between India and Pakistan, firmly rejecting any third-party mediation or escalation beyond the conventional domain.

Addressing a press conference, the MEA spokesperson dismissed speculations surrounding the recent military action and Pakistan’s alleged nuclear posturing. He clarified that India does not succumb to nuclear blackmail and remains committed to dealing with cross-border terrorism through firm and proportionate responses. The military action taken, he stressed, was strictly within the conventional sphere.
Amid swirling reports of Pakistan’s National Command Authority convening over the escalating situation, the MEA pointed out that these claims were officially denied by Pakistani authorities, including the country’s foreign minister, who dismissed any nuclear intent.
Highlighting the transparency in the conflict's aftermath, the spokesperson encouraged the use of commercially available satellite imagery to independently verify the damage inflicted. He contrasted the Pakistani claims of targets with the actual precision strikes carried out by India, suggesting that the results speak for themselves.
India maintained that it was Pakistan’s altered stance following the disabling of key airbases on May 10 that prompted the call for cessation of hostilities, underscoring a strategic shift driven by ground realities. India, however, confirmed that its policy and objectives remain consistent.
