India finished on top in group-1

    Rohit Sharma scored a 41-ball 92

Bangladesh will qualify if they chase target within 12 overs

India have maintained their unbeaten streak after having registered a comfortable 24-run win against Australia in their final fixture of the super eights stage. This has ensured that they have finished on top in group-1. They would be taking on England at 8 P.M Indian Standard Time (IST) on 27th June in the second semi final of the 2024 ICC T-20 World Cup.

Earlier, Indian captain Rohit Sharma scored a 41-ball 92 to get India off to a great start after India were put into bat by Australia who won the toss. The innings consisted of 7 fours and 8 sixes. This has been hailed as the revenge-knock. Rohit Sharma got out to a score of 47 in 31 balls in the 2023 ICC ODI World Cup final which India eventually lost. Rohit’s knock helped India cross the 200-run mark. Despite the promise shown by Australian opener Travis Head, tight lengths in the final stage of the match by Indian bowlers ensured that Australia were well below the mark.

Australia would have to hope that Bangladesh defeats Afghanistan in order to qualify for the semi finals. This however comes with a caveat that if Bangladesh chases down the target set by Afghanistan within 12 overs, they would qualify to the next stage and not Australia.
