The gunfight also resulted in injuries to two Indian soldiers, who are currently receiving medical treatment. The operation is part of a series of swift retaliatory actions taken by security forces in the aftermath of the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, mostly tourists.
In a show of zero tolerance for terrorism, authorities have also demolished the homes of two suspects believed to be involved in the Pahalgam massacre. The residences of Asif Sheikh in Tral and Adil, a terrorist from Anantnag district, were razed as part of a crackdown on terror sympathizers.
Security forces remain on high alert across the Kashmir Valley as search operations continue. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to uprooting terrorism and bringing all culprits to justice.
This decisive action comes amid growing public anger over the Pahalgam tragedy and reflects the Army’s resolve to dismantle terror networks operating in the region.
