A devastating car crash in Greene County, Texas, claimed the lives of an Indian family of four on Sunday, July 6, when their SUV collided head-on with a truck traveling in the wrong direction. The impact sparked a massive fire, leaving the victims burned beyond recognition.

The family, identified as Venkat Bejugam, his wife Tejaswini Cholleti, and their two children, Siddarth and Mrida, were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported that the vehicle was engulfed in flames by the time emergency responders arrived, making immediate rescue efforts impossible.

Originally from Secunderabad, the family had been residing in Sutton Fields, Aubrey, a suburb near Dallas. They were returning home from a week-long visit with relatives in Atlanta as part of a summer road trip. The crash occurred just a short distance from their destination.

While social media posts have circulated video footage of a burning SUV purportedly linked to the accident, the visuals remain unverified. Law enforcement officials have yet to formally identify the victims due to the extent of the fire damage.

TEAM Aid, a welfare organization supporting non-resident Indians, is coordinating with U.S. authorities and the Indian consulate to arrange repatriation of the remains.

Texas has witnessed several similar tragedies involving Indian nationals. In separate incidents last year, multiple Indian families lost their lives in fiery collisions involving high-speed crashes and vehicle fires.
