Jointly developed by India and Russia, BrahMos is a supersonic, highly accurate missile system that can be launched from land, air, or sea, making it one of the most adaptable weapons in modern warfare. It travels at speeds up to Mach 3 and can strike targets up to 800 km away in its advanced versions. With a warhead capacity of 200-300 kg and the ability to hit targets just 10 meters above the ground, BrahMos is ideal for both deep-strike and low-altitude missions.

While India remains its primary operator, interest in BrahMos is surging globally. The Philippines is the first confirmed buyer, having signed a $375 million deal and already receiving its first coastal defense battery in April 2024. Other nations, including Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Egypt, UAE, Brazil, and South Africa, are in various stages of negotiation for different variants of the missile system.
