In a startling revelation, retired Major General Rajeev Narayanan has claimed that India conducted precision strikes targeting Pakistan’s nuclear testing sites, specifically in areas like Sargodha, Kirana Hills and Quetta. According to him, these operations were successful in neutralizing key nuclear assets deep within Pakistani territory.
Narayanan explained that the seismic activity reported in these regions was not due to natural earthquakes, but rather the result of radiological explosions. Unlike a full-scale nuclear blast where fissile material reaches critical mass, a radiological explosion occurs when the fissile material burns and explodes without triggering a nuclear chain reaction. While less powerful, such explosions still release significant radiation.

Global seismic sensors registered tremors equivalent to a 4.4 magnitude earthquake in the targeted areas, signaling the occurrence of powerful underground detonations. These sensors, deployed worldwide to detect unusual seismic activity, helped confirm the scale and impact of the explosions.
India, according to Narayanan, employed advanced weaponry including BrahMos and Spike missiles to carry out the strikes. The tunnel entrances at these nuclear sites were destroyed, allowing radiation from the radiological blasts to permeate the underground networks. As a result, the affected sites have become heavily contaminated, rendering them unusable for potentially up to a thousand years due to the lingering radioactive residue.
In his statement, Narayanan emphasized the strategic effectiveness of these strikes, asserting that Pakistan’s nuclear capability suffered a major blow and that the targeted sites have been permanently compromised.
