India's richest and poorest Chief Ministers revealed in ADR report

A report by the Association of Democratic Reforms (ADR) and National Election Watch (NEW) has unveiled the wealth of India’s chief ministers, highlighting significant disparities. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) tops the list as the richest CM, with assets worth ₹931 crore. Arunachal Pradesh's BJP CM Pema Khandu and Karnataka's Congress CM Siddaramaiah follow with assets of ₹332 crore and ₹51 crore, respectively.

On the other end of the spectrum, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee (Trinamool Congress) is the least wealthy, declaring assets of just ₹15 lakh. She is followed by Jammu and Kashmir’s Omar Abdullah (National Conference) with ₹55 lakh and Kerala’s Pinarayi Vijayan (CPI-M) with ₹1.18 crore.

The report also analyzed liabilities, with Khandu topping the chart at ₹180 crore, followed by Siddaramaiah with ₹23 crore and Naidu at ₹10 crore. Collectively, the total assets of India’s 31 chief ministers stand at ₹1,630 crore, averaging ₹52.59 crore per CM. Their average annual self-income is ₹13.6 lakh.

Criminal cases against CMs were also highlighted. Telangana’s Congress CM Anumula Revanth Reddy leads with 89 cases, while Siddaramaiah ranks fourth with 13 cases, excluding a recent scam.
The report underscores significant disparities in wealth and legal standing among India’s political leaders.
