As the aircraft flew through the skies toward Srinagar, it was suddenly caught in a severe weather system. Heavy hail, loud thunder, lightning, and strong winds battered the aircraft, causing it to shake violently. The loud impact sounds of the hail hitting the fuselage added to the panic onboard.
Fear quickly spread among the passengers, especially among women and children, many of whom began screaming in terror, fearing for their lives. The crew remained composed and strictly followed safety protocols despite the chaos. The pilot swiftly contacted Srinagar air traffic control to report the emergency situation.
Despite the turbulence and the damaged nose section of the plane, the pilot managed to safely land the aircraft at Srinagar Airport around 6:30 PM. Passengers, visibly shaken but unharmed, expressed immense relief upon landing. Many onboard captured videos during the ordeal, which are now circulating widely on social media, showing the intense fear and distress inside the cabin.
