A honeymoon adventure turned into a chilling crime story when newlyweds Sonam and Raja Raghuvanshi, originally from Indore, went missing in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills on May 23. They had arrived to enjoy their special trip, but within hours, both vanished without a trace.
After days of search operations, Raja’s body was discovered on June 2 in a gorge near a local village. Sonam remained unaccounted for, prompting authorities to investigate local guides and tourists.

In a shocking twist, investigators determined that Sonam had not been abducted,she had allegedly masterminded the murder. It’s now understood that she hired four men from Madhya Pradesh to carry out the killing. Three of the hired killers have been arrested, and Sonam herself surrendered to police, admitting orchestrating the crime and disposing of her husband's body.
According to police accounts, Sonam vanished soon after Raja’s death, heightening suspicions. She has since acknowledged the plan, while the remaining suspect is still at large.
