Residents also voiced their long-standing demand for permanent solutions, expressing frustration over repeated flooding year after year. The CM assured them that the government is closely monitoring the situation and committed to both short- and long-term responses.
A BBMP official from Yelahanka highlighted the area’s poor gradient and the challenge of managing 29 lakes. He added that temporary drainage measures were being implemented to ease the situation.
Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar emphasized the need to remove encroachments so that roads could be widened and water vents created, allowing for natural drainage and reducing waterlogging in the future.
Relief efforts continue as rainfall persists.
