The stampede took place during the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) victory celebrations, which had attracted an overwhelming number of fans. With poor crowd control measures in place, chaos erupted at the stadium’s entrance, leading to a fatal stampede that shocked the state and the country. The incident has prompted widespread criticism of the police and event organizers.

Nimbalkar’s transfer comes just a day after the suspension of Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda and several other senior police officials. These decisions signal the state’s commitment to addressing administrative lapses that may have contributed to the disaster.

Sources within the government indicated that more changes could be underway as internal inquiries continue. The goal is to ensure accountability at all levels and to prevent similar tragedies in the future. Senior officials have been tasked with reassessing safety protocols and law enforcement readiness during large public events.
