In an inspiring tale of resilience and unwavering focus, Dr. R. Rangamanju from Bengaluru has emerged as Karnataka’s state topper in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2024, securing an All India Rank (AIR) of 24. A qualified medical doctor by profession, Dr. Rangamanju cracked one of the country’s toughest exams in his sixth attempt, without the support of any formal coaching for either the preliminary or mains stages.

His achievement is a testament to self-discipline, persistence, and clarity of purpose. Despite facing multiple setbacks, he never gave up. Instead, he refined his strategy with each attempt and stayed true to his goal. Sharing his philosophy for success with NewsFirst Prime, Dr. Rangamanju emphasized the importance of balance and steady commitment:  

“If you want to achieve big in UPSC, there is no need to attain sainthood or isolate yourselves from others. But there is a middle path, the Buddha Path. You live your life allowing small celebration in life perhaps. But rigour, dedication and perseverance are essential,” he said.

His story serves as motivation for aspirants across the country, proving that with the right mindset, even the most formidable challenges can be overcome.
