Maji Bu, an account on X (formerly known as Twitter) that makes claims on gadgets based on trends on Weibo (a Chinese microblogging site), with a reasonable degree of success, has made interesting speculations on iPhone 15 that will be launched on September 12th. “According to what I read in the schematics and what I heard, the new case was made with a technology called Fine Woven Twill, it is a type of textile weaving characterised by a diagonal stripe. It seems that the material used is not waterproof so it could be damaged on contact. The official name seems to be confirmed as FineWoven. The retail price for the public should be over 800 yuan, probably something like $109 in the US or even more since it is an innovative material developed by Apple,” he posted.
Another account, Kosutomi that operates on a similar turf, has added on this claim. “This material will also be used for the new Watch band. Also, this type of case has rubber-wrapped bezels, and it's a little darker than the main colour,” the account had posted. The case is speculated to be available in 10 different colours. These include black, mulberry, taupe, evergreen, pacific blue, wisteria, antique white, butter yellow, orange and blue.
