RCB have performed badly thus far in IPL 2024

Rayudu holds Kohli responsible for it

RCB do not have a good bowling unit

Virat Kohli has been a star performer in the cricketing world, plundering record after record. He is any captain’s delight. But is he a sore sight in the Royal Challengers Bengaluru camp?

Well, going by what another retired cricketer Ambati Rayudu says, it is Virat Kohli who is responsible for the mess that RCB is in.

On Tuesday (March 2), RCB went down fighting Lucknow SuperGiants at their home stadium M Chinnaswamy. Of the 4 matches they have played in this season till now, RCB have exhibited a paltry performance, winning only 1.

Holding Kohli responsible for the fiasco, Rayudu stressed that he had been at the helm of affairs for a long time.

“Virat Kohli was RCB captain for a long time. He had his say in important retention and auction matters, but the team never bought quality bowlers. Even the top performers with them didn’t get the backing and left the squad. The same players performed well after joining the other franchises. He didn’t play his role to perfection.”

“Kohli has scored over 7000 runs for the franchise but tell me the name of another batter who is on the list of the top run-getters for RCB. There is hardly anyone. A team can’t win a trophy riding on the shoulders of one player,” Ambati Rayudu said on Star Sports.
