The wait is finally over as the world’s richest cricket league, the Indian Premier League (IPL), kicks off its 18th season. Over the next 65 days, 10 teams will battle it out across 75 matches for the prestigious trophy, setting the stage for an electrifying cricketing extravaganza. 

Ahead of the season opener, Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Rajat Patidar won hearts by reciting a famous dialogue of Kannada cinema legend Dr. Rajkumar. Appearing on the Insider Show with Mr. Nags, Rajat folded his hands in respect and declared, “Fans are our gods,” echoing the sentiment of Dr. Rajkumar. He also thanked RCB supporters for their unwavering love and encouragement.

RCB fans erupted with joy after hearing the dialogue in Kannada. Social media was flooded with enthusiastic reactions, with many commenting, “Fans are our gods, RCB is our breath, Kannada is our pride, and this time, the cup is ours.”

This season marks a leadership change for RCB, as Rajat Patidar takes over the captaincy from South African cricketer Faf du Plessis, who led the team from 2022 to 2024. With high hopes and strong fan support, RCB enters IPL 2024 with renewed energy and a dream to clinch their maiden title.
