IPL 2024: MI beat RCB by 7 wickets; Jasprit Bumrah takes 5 wickets

    MI won the match by 7 wickets with 27 balls remaining

In the 25th IPL 2024 match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), MI won the toss and chose to bowl first.

As the RCB openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis began to to bat the innings, RCB had a very disappointing start as Virat Kohli lost his wicket in the third over to Jasprit Bumrah when its score was just 14.

However, du Plessis, Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik’s batting, all three of them scoring half century each, put a challenging target of 196 runs for MI to chase.  Dinesh Karthik hit a magnificent 53 runs of 23 balls with 5 fours and 4 sixes.

MI’s Jasprit Bumrah bowled excellently  as he took 5 wickets in four overs by giving away just 21 runs.

Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan as they began to bat for MI, they put up an amazing partnership score of over 100 runs. Ishan lost his wicket in the ninth over after hitting a superb 69 runs of 34 balls with MI scoring 111 runs in 10 overs.

Suryakumar Yadav scored 52 of just 19 balls easing the pressure on MI in achieving the target of 197 and making victory seeem a cakewalk for MI after his excellent batting.

MI were 181 for loss of 3 wickets at the end of 14 overs and they won the match by 7 wickets with 27 balls remaining. RCB faced fourth successive defeat and fifth in this IPL.
