RCB (Royal Challengers Bengaluru) won the toss and chose to bat first in the 41st match of IPL 2024 against SRH (Sunrisers Hyderabad).

As Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli began to bat, they scored 43 runs in 3 overs. After scoring 25 runs, Faf lost his wicket in the fourth over to T Natarajan who gave the much needed breakthrough for SRH by breaking their partnership.

Kohli secured his half century (51) in 43 balls and was dismissed by Jaydev Unadkat. Rajat Patidar propelled the score of RCB by hitting 50 runs in just 20 balls and was dismissed in the 13th over when RCB’s score stood at 132/3. RCB gave a target of 207 runs for SRH to chase to win the match.

Blazing SRH batters Travis Head (1) and Abhishek Sharma (31) were dismissed early with RCB bowlers taking wickets with focus on thwarting their batting standing.

Within first 6 overs, RCB bowlers took crucial 4 wickets providing a sign of relief for its team when SRH score was 62. In the next 4 overs SRH lost another 2 wickets and their score was 89/6 in 10 overs.

Shahbaz Ahmad and Pat Cummins helped SRH score runs in the next few overs, but RCB bowlers were successful in restricting SRH score to not more than 171 in 20 overs leading to RCB victory by 35 runs.
