Kolkata Knight Riders that won the toss and chose to field, put RCB to bat first. Opening batsmen Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis as they began to bat the initial over,  Faf du Plessis was dismissed in the second over with him scoring only 8 runs.

RCB were 85/2 in 10 overs. Virat Kohli, who continued his batting rigor through the game hit 50 runs off 36 balls in the 13th over and remained not out in this match. RCB put up a score of 182 runs in 20 overs for KKR to chase.

Interestingly, Virat Kohli outshined Chris Gayle by smashing the most sixes ever for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). This historic feat unfolded at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during today’s match against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Virat Kohli leads with 242 sixes for RCB in the IPL. Following closely is Chris Gayle with 239 sixes and AB de Villiers with 238 sixes.

With amazing opening batting by KKR, they were 85 in 6 overs with no loss of wicket. Within the first six overs of KKR’s smashing batting against RCB bowlers, KKR were nearly 50% of the target already hit with 70% of the overs still remaining.

RCB bowlers under fire by KKR batters, KKR cruised towards easy victory as they were at 167/2 in 15 overs and subsequently with 16 runs needed off 29 balls. KKR made a easy win against RCB as they defeated RCB by 7 wickets with 19 balls left.
