The much-anticipated IPL 2025 final between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings is set to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium tonight at 7:30 PM. However, rain clouds are casting a shadow over the title clash.

With just hours left for the toss, Ahmedabad witnessed showers, raising concerns about a possible disruption. According to forecasts, there is a 50% to 75% chance of rain this evening, prompting uncertainty over whether the match will proceed as planned.

Cricket fans, however, need not be disheartened. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has scheduled a reserve day—June 4—in case rain prevents play today. This ensures that a full match can still be held if the weather fails to cooperate.

Additionally, IPL rules allow for 120 minutes of extra time to accommodate rain delays. If weather conditions improve temporarily, officials will aim to complete the game with minimal overs lost. A precedent was seen during the Qualifier-2 between Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings, which began late at 9:45 PM but was played in full after initial delays.

RCB and Punjab Kings, both chasing their maiden IPL title, are waiting anxiously. Meanwhile, millions of fans across the country remain hopeful that rain will relent and allow a fair conclusion to the season’s biggest game.
