After winning the toss, GT opted to field first, and their bowlers delivered a disciplined performance, restricting RCB to 169/8 in 20 overs. Despite an underwhelming start, Liam Livingstone provided some momentum with a well-compiled 54 off 40 balls, while other batters failed to convert their starts. Mohammed Siraj was the standout performer for GT, claiming 3/19 and later earning the Player of the Match award.
Chasing 169, Jos Buttler led GT’s charge with a blistering 73 off 39 balls, dispatching the RCB bowlers to all parts of the ground. Sai Sudharsan (49 off 36) provided steady support as the duo stitched a match-winning partnership. GT comfortably reached the target in 17.5 overs, winning with 13 balls to spare.
With this loss, RCB face their first loss of the season, now third on the points table (2 wins, 1 loss). They will look to bounce back in their next outing. This marks their first setback after a dream start to the tournament.
