Opting to bat first, Mumbai got off to a flying start, thanks to Rohit Sharma’s explosive knock. The former captain smashed 81 runs off 50 balls, hitting 9 fours and 4 sixes before falling to Prasidh Krishna. Supported by contributions from the middle order, Mumbai Indians posted a formidable 228/5.

Gujarat’s chase began on a shaky note with the early dismissal of captain Shubman Gill. However, Sai Sudharsan revived their innings with a valiant 80, laced with 10 boundaries. Despite his efforts, Mumbai’s disciplined bowling attack kept chipping away at Gujarat’s batting order. As Sudharsan fell, Gujarat’s momentum crumbled, and they were eventually restricted, handing Mumbai a 20-run win.

With this victory, Mumbai advances to Qualifier 2, set to face table-toppers Punjab Kings on Sunday, June 1. The winner will meet Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in the grand finale on June 3.

RCB, already in the final, is now just one win away from lifting their maiden IPL trophy. With three teams locked in an intense battle, Season 18 nears an electrifying finish.
