Opting to bowl first after winning the toss, CSK found themselves under pressure early as RCB raced to 50 in just 4.3 overs. JG Bethell smashed a fluent 50 off 28 balls, while Virat Kohli continued his sublime form with a 29-ball 50. But it was Romario Shepherd’s carnage at the death — a 14-ball 50 featuring 6 sixes — that powered RCB to a daunting 213/5. Khaleel Ahmed endured a horror over, conceding 33 runs.

In reply, CSK began explosively, reaching 100 in under 10 overs. The 17-year-old Ayush Mhatre dazzled with a fearless 94 off 48 balls, supported ably by Ravindra Jadeja’s 77 off 45. Despite RCB dropping two crucial catches, they held their nerve. CSK required 15 off the final over but fell agonizingly short.

A game of momentum swings and individual brilliance, this contest will be remembered as one of the season’s most gripping encounters.
