The ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan had a ripple effect on the Indian Premier League (IPL), leading to a temporary suspension of matches. However, there's now good news for cricket fans, the IPL is set to resume from May 16 and will be extended until May 30, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

After a week-long halt in the tournament, BCCI has officially announced that all remaining league and playoff matches will be conducted. With the competition resuming mid-May, all franchises, except Punjab Kings, have been asked to regroup at their respective locations by May 13. This is to ensure players have enough time to coordinate with their teams and prepare for the upcoming matches.
There are 16 matches left in the tournament, including playoff games and the grand finale. To complete the tournament within the extended timeline, BCCI is reportedly planning to schedule more double-headers (two matches in a day). This move will help wrap up the league in the remaining two weeks.
The IPL's return is set to bring back excitement for fans and franchises alike, with preparations in full swing for a tight, action-packed finish to the 2025 season.
