A day after agreeing to a US-supported ceasefire with Israel, Iran carried out the execution of three men accused of spying for Israel’s intelligence agency, Mossad. Iranian authorities also reported the arrest of around 700 people suspected of having links to Israel.

The three men identified as Idris Ali, Azad Shojai, and Rasoul Ahmad Rasoul were found guilty of collaborating with Mossad and smuggling equipment intended for an assassination. However, no details about the case or the target were revealed. These arrests were reported across several provinces, including Kermanshah, Isfahan, Khuzestan, Fars, and Lorestan.
The ceasefire ended nearly two weeks of intense conflict and airstrikes. However, both Iran and Israel have already accused the other side of breaking the agreement.
Iran’s actions suggest it is continuing its security crackdown despite the ceasefire. Authorities stated that the recent actions are part of ongoing efforts to break up suspected spy networks. The next steps taken by both Iran and Israel are likely to decide whether the temporary ceasefire will hold or come to an end.
