The escalating conflict between Iran and Israel has left several Indian families in a state of panic, especially those with children studying in Iran. Among them is the family of Abbas alias Ali Asgar, a medical student from Bengaluru, who is reportedly stuck in Iran with no communication access amidst rising military tension.

Abbas is one of nine students from Karnataka currently pursuing MBBS in Iran. According to his family in Bengaluru, communication with him has been completely cut off. “His phone is not reachable. Calls are not going through. We are living in fear every second,” said a tearful family member. His mother, along with relatives, has appealed emotionally to Indian authorities for immediate action to bring their children home.

Another student, Dania Ulfat, from the same state and family group, is also said to be in Iran. With the region on the brink of war, their parents are overwhelmed by anxiety. “We had sent our children to Iran only because we couldn’t afford the high cost of medical education in India. Now, we just want them to return alive and safe,” said Abbas’s father.

The parents, fearing the worst due to growing uncertainty in the region, have submitted urgent appeals to the government to arrange for evacuation or at least re-establish contact with the students. The Ministry of External Affairs is reportedly monitoring the situation, though no official evacuation plan has been announced yet.
