Tensions in the Middle East surged on Monday as Iran launched a new wave of ballistic missiles at Israel, following U.S. airstrikes on key Iranian nuclear facilities. According to preliminary assessments by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), the missile barrage included around 15 ballistic missiles, with several reportedly striking Israeli territory.

Sirens rang out across northern and central Israel, including in Jerusalem, where explosions were heard. In the southern city of Ashdod, emergency services responded to a missile impact. The IDF confirmed multiple launches from Iran, marking a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict.

The missile attack came just one day after the United States carried out targeted strikes on Iran's nuclear sites at Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, joining Israel in its military campaign against Tehran. This coordinated military action has dramatically raised the stakes in the already volatile region.

In response to the missile threat, Israeli authorities urged civilians to take cover and remain in secure areas. The latest exchange of fire marks the 11th consecutive day of hostilities between the two nations.

Iranian state media described the strike as part of its expanding military operation, "True Promise 3," which reportedly targeted major Israeli cities including Tel Aviv and Haifa using both ballistic missiles and drones.
