Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra believes that the upcoming Champions Trophy, set to begin on February 19, could be the last ICC tournament for India’s seasoned trio—Virat Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma, and all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. With ongoing speculation about their future in ODIs, Chopra suggests that the three veterans are unlikely to wait until the 2027 World Cup to retire from ICC events.

Kohli, Rohit, and Jadeja have already bid farewell to T20Is after India's victorious 2024 T20 World Cup campaign. This has fueled discussions about whether the Champions Trophy will serve as their swansong in global tournaments. In a recent YouTube video, Chopra noted that age and career trajectory make it unlikely for the trio to continue until the next ODI World Cup.
Chopra highlighted that since India missed out on the 2025 World Test Championship Final, the Champions Trophy might be their last major ICC outing. With the 2026 T20 World Cup out of the equation due to their T20I retirements, the long gap until 2027 raises doubts about their continued presence in international cricket.
Despite concerns over their recent Test form, Kohli, Rohit, and Jadeja showcased their prowess in India’s ODI series victory over England, proving they remain formidable assets as India gears up for the Champions Trophy.
