The news of the attempted assassination of the presidential candidate for the United States of America (USA) elections from the Republican Party Donald Trump caused shockwaves across the world. The bullet from the assassin's rifle brushed past Trump’s ears causing bleeding. Donald Trump was however saved of far more deadly consequences by a matter of centimetres.

The supporters of Trump’s presidential campaign have hailed the miraculous recovery as a positive sign of things to come. Trump even made a gesture with his closed fists towards the audience while being escorted off the stage by security officials. The Spokesperson of the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) Kolkata Radharamn Das called this an act of divine intervention by Lord Jagannath. “Yes, for sure it's divine intervention. Exactly 48 years ago, Donald Trump saved the Jagannath Rath Yatra festival. Today, as the world celebrates the Jagannath Rath Yatra festival again, Trump was attacked, and Jagannath returned the favour by saving him,” Radharamn Das mentioned in a post on the microblogging site X (formerly known as Twitter).

Radharamn Das recollected an incident from 1976 wherein Trump supposedly helped people associated with ISKCON for a Rathyatra by making available to them a train yard he owned for the construction of raths. This was apparently done without charging them any money for the same.
