Tensions between Iran and Israel surged to new heights early Saturday as Israeli airstrikes killed two senior Iranian generals and targeted key military and nuclear facilities. The escalating conflict has drawn global concern over its potential to destabilize the already volatile Middle East.

Iran confirmed the deaths of General Gholamreza Mehrabi, deputy head of intelligence of the armed forces general staff, and General Mehdi Rabbani, deputy head of operations, in the latest wave of Israeli attacks. These strikes followed a series of Iranian missile and rocket barrages that hit Tel Aviv and triggered explosions across Jerusalem and other Israeli cities.
The fresh attacks marked Israel's most extensive offensive against Iran to date, striking critical infrastructure and military installations. The Israeli army also launched a third wave of airstrikes on Tehran, with blasts reported in multiple districts of the capital.
Iran’s nuclear program was also targeted, with its Fordo enrichment facility sustaining minor damage. Authorities reported that much of the sensitive equipment had been relocated in anticipation of attacks, which limited the impact. The site remained secure, and no radiation threat was reported.
This latest exchange signals a dangerous new chapter in the long-standing hostilities between the two regional powers, raising fears of a broader conflict. International observers are closely monitoring the situation as both nations brace for possible further escalation.
