India’s ambitious military operation, Operation Sindoor, received crucial support from a unexpected yet powerful ally-the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). The country’s space agency played a significant role in helping the Indian Army identify and strike enemy locations by providing precise satellite imagery.

Using its advanced satellites capable of capturing high-resolution images with clarity ranging from 0.6 meters to 0.35 meters, ISRO monitored the movements of Pakistani military units and terrorist hideouts from space. These images helped Indian forces locate critical military infrastructure such as terrorist launch pads, Pakistani army position, weapon depots, and radar stations.

ISRO’s contribution extended beyond just identifying enemy locations, the date and images shared with the military were instrumental in planning and executing the strikes. With real-time visual intelligence, the Indian Army was able to choose specific targets for attack with greater accuracy and confidence.
