Siddaramaiah responded to Deve Gowda's letter

This letter is merely for public consumption: Siddaramaiah

I have no desire to shield Prajwal: Deve Gowda

It has been close to one month since the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from Hassan Prajwal Revanna reportedly left India after obscene videos allegedly featuring him surfaced on the internet. CM Siddaramaiah has now responded to a letter written by the Former Prime Minister of India HD Deve Gowda instructing his grandson Prajwal to open himself up to the process of legal scrutiny. “According to me it was Deve Gowda who arranged for Prajwal’s foreign trip. This letter is merely for public consumption,” CM Siddaramaiah remarked.

Earlier the letter from HD Deve Gowda received a mixed response with a faction raising doubts on whether the intentions behind writing the letter are genuine. This comes at a time where despite an ongoing SIT investigation, both the major political blocks of Karnataka have levelled allegations against each other over being responsible for the large scale sharing of the videos. “I also cannot convince people that I was unaware of Prajwal’s activities. I cannot convince them that I have no desire to shield him. I cannot convince them that I am not aware of his movements, and that I was not aware of his foreign trip. I believe in answering my conscience. I believe in God and I know the almighty knows the truth,” HD Deve Gowda mentioned in his letter.
