The baby was discovered by locals and admitted to BIMS Hospital for immediate medical attention. Later, the child was placed under the care of the Gangamma Chikkumbi Monastery, which has been actively involved in child welfare and adoption initiatives.

After six years of waiting, Italian couple Dr. Costangari and his wife Buzar, a swimming coach, finally had their wish fulfilled as they completed the adoption process. The formal handover took place in the presence of Belagavi Deputy Commissioner Mohammed Roshan.

This marks the 13th child from the monastery to be adopted internationally. The monastery, known for its efforts in rehabilitating abandoned children, continues to provide a new lease on life to many through global adoptions.

The incident also sheds light on the plight of abandoned children and the need for stronger awareness against superstitions that lead to such heartbreaking situations. Thanks to the generosity and compassion of this Italian couple, the child now has a promising future ahead.
