Chief Minister of Karnataka Siddaramaiah spoke at the inauguration ceremony of a statue of Lord Hanuman in Bengaluru. “I visited the Rama Sethu Laxmana temple established by the Hirandahalli Shriram Temple trust located in the Bidarahalli Hobali headquarters along with my family. I also flagged the inauguration of a program for the installation of a 33-feet Hanuman statue and participated in Maha Kumbhabhishekam. I spoke shortly thereafter,” Siddaramiah posted on the microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
Siddaramaiah talked about his personal devotion to lord Ram. “I am not an atheist. I am a theist. I have built a Ram temple in my village. There are ram temples in many villages across India. Ram is worshipped in many unique ways. Kuvempu’s vision of ‘Sarva Jananga Shantiya Thota (A peaceful abode open to all people) is inspied by Shri Ram’s ideology,” his post mentioned.
Siddaramaiah also seemingly took a dig at his political rivals. “If our conduct is unethical and inhumane and we pretentiously offer prayers thereafter, it would be unacceptable to god. It was Lord Ram’s wish that all living beings must be treated equally and must be loving towards each other. Jai Shree Ram is not anyone’s private property. It is the birthright of every devotee,” his post added.
