Chen, amazed by the terminal’s architecture, praised it as “India’s best airport terminal” and marveled at its extensive use of bamboo, even in the check-in counters. Terminal 2 of Bengaluru’s airport has been recognized internationally for its innovative design, winning the prestigious ‘Special Prize for an Interior’ from UNESCO’s Prix Versailles, a Paris-based architectural awards jury. Built at a cost of approximately ₹5,000 crore, the terminal reflects the essence of Bengaluru, often referred to as the garden city, by offering travelers a unique “walk in the garden” experience.
