Her appointment has drawn praise from across the state, including from Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, who personally congratulated her and hailed her as an inspiration for many. During a meeting with the Chief Minister, Jency thanked the government for supporting social justice initiatives, and shared her hope for more transgender inclusion in educational spaces.
