Lopez, a vocal supporter of the Democratic ticket, made her campaign trail debut, calling this appearance the most significant stage she had ever stood on. She condemned Hinchcliffe’s remarks, highlighting that the insult was not only offensive to Puerto Ricans but to the entire Latino community and to anyone with a sense of decency.
Identifying herself proudly as Puerto Rican, Lopez stressed her American identity, reminding the crowd that Puerto Ricans are Americans too. She shared her perspective that “American” inherently includes “Rican,” a comment that drew enthusiastic applause from the audience.
In her rally speech, Lopez urged voters in Nevada to create a “Hollywood ending” for Harris in the upcoming election. Her passionate endorsement energized the crowd, as she encouraged them to reject divisive rhetoric and support a vision of inclusivity that the Democratic ticket represents.
