In a spectacle that has taken the internet by surprise, a full-fledged Hindu puja was performed for a private jet — a Gulfstream G280, reportedly worth nearly ₹200 crore. The unusual event, held at an airport in Bengaluru, has gone viral after a video was shared on Instagram by Pandit Chandrashekhar Sharma, the well-known priest who conducted the ceremony.

While it’s common in India to see people perform rituals for new vehicles like cars and bikes, this high-flying blessing was anything but ordinary. The video shows Pandit Sharma walking toward the luxury jet parked on the tarmac and setting up a traditional havan (holy fire) to begin the ceremony. Chanting mantras and performing customary rituals, he even applied a tilak to the aircraft’s nose — a gesture believed to invoke protection and prosperity.

Inside the jet, idols of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Lakshmi, and Saraswati were placed and worshipped to seek divine blessings for safe journeys and success. The pilot and owner of the aircraft were seen participating respectfully, with the latter joining in the final rituals and taking a cheerful selfie with the priest.
The unusual combination of aviation and age-old tradition has struck a chord online, with many praising the unique display of devotion and culture — jet-setting, the Indian way.
