Jigarthanda DoubleX teaser released

The teaser of Jigarthanda DoubleX helmed by Karthik Subbaraj has been released on YouTube. The 2 major leads of the film are being played by actor-cum-choreographer Raghav Lawrence and veteran actor SJ Suryah respectively. 

The teaser was unveiled by Kannada star Rakshit Shetty on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Delighted to be releasing the teaser of Jigarthanda DoubleX! Definitely looking at king size entertainment here! Such style and novelty in the making by Karthik Subbaraj, Best wishes to you and the entire team,” he posted. The teaser has earned 2.3 crore views and 1.7 lakh likes within a day of being released. 

In a case of role reversal, SJ Suryah who usually plays the antagonist plays the role of the director who is caught under difficult circumstances. Raghav Lawrence who is usually seen playing the protagonist would be seen as a dreaded gangster in the film. The theme of the film seems eerily reminiscent of Jigarthanda which was also directed by Karthik Subbaraj wherein the role of the director was played by Telugu actor Siddhart and the role of the dreaded gangster was played by Bobby Simha. The film has been influenced by the western genre in terms of style. The teaser refers to the film as a “Pandyaa Western”.
