Actor Junaid Khan, son of Aamir Khan, has expressed doubts about his casting in the upcoming romantic drama Loveyapa, set to release in theatres on February 7. Starring alongside Khushi Kapoor, Junaid revealed that he initially questioned director Advait Chandan’s decision to choose him for the role.

Reflecting on the casting process, the 31-year-old actor admitted that he found his personality quite different from the character he portrays. Despite his reservations, both Chandan and producer Madhu Mantena were confident in their choice, reassuring him of their decision.

Loveyapa is an official remake of the Tamil film Love Today and marks the first theatrical release for both Junaid and Khushi. Their debut projects—Maharaj and The Archies, respectively—were released directly on Netflix. The film also features veteran actor Ashutosh Rana in a significant role.

Junaid has previously acknowledged the advantages of his background in the industry. In an earlier interview, he stated that producers were willing to cast him despite his lack of public presence, solely due to his family connections. He recognized this as a privilege not available to many aspiring actors.

As Loveyapa gears up for its theatrical debut, anticipation is high to see how Junaid and Khushi perform in their first big-screen venture.
