As Bollywood icon Hrithik Roshan celebrates his 51st birthday this Friday (Jan 10) and the 25th anniversary of his debut film Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, the 2000 blockbuster is set for a theatrical re-release on January 10. Directed by Rakesh Roshan and featuring Hrithik alongside Ameesha Patel, the film’s original 2000 release grossed ₹44.10 crore at the Indian box office. With the re-release, it needs just ₹5.90 crore more to achieve a significant milestone—a ₹50 crore lifetime collection in India.
Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was a trailblazing romantic drama that cemented Hrithik’s status as a star. Made on a modest ₹10 crore budget, the film emerged as a blockbuster, grossing ₹80 crore globally. Its enduring appeal and the continued enthusiasm of fans suggest it could easily attract audiences back to theaters.
Romantic re-releases have consistently fared well, and the loyal fan base of this film adds to its potential.
The film, produced under Rakesh Roshan's Filmkraft Productions, also features Anupam Kher and Dalip Tahil in key roles. All eyes are on the re-release to see if it can create a milestone once again.
