Nag Ashwin’s futuristic epic Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, continues its reign on the OTT platform, maintaining strong momentum in its second week. The visually stunning dystopian thriller, which initially captivated audiences in theaters, grossing over ₹900 crore globally despite mixed reviews, has now found similar success in the digital arena.

After its OTT release on August 22, 2024, the film quickly garnered 4.5 million views in its first week, making it one of the top five Netflix debuts for a Hindi-language film. In Week 2, Kalki 2898 AD solidified its dominance by reaching 2.6 million additional views, pushing the total to an impressive 7.1 million.

What’s even more noteworthy is the staggering 7.5 million viewing hours achieved in its second week, easily outpacing competitors like Untamed Royals and Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba. The Prabhas-starrer achieved 225% higher views than the latter, according to reports from Koimoi.com, making it the uncontested leader in the streaming world.

The film’s strategic release on OTT shortly after its theatrical run has allowed Kalki to extend its global reach, engaging audiences worldwide. As Week 3 approaches, all eyes are on whether the film’s impressive streak will continue.
