'Kalki 2898 AD' set for OTT release: Prime Video date announced

The much-anticipated science-fiction drama, Kalki 2898 AD, starring Prabhas, is nearing the end of its theatrical run and is poised for its OTT debut.

According to reports, the film is scheduled to release on Prime Video on August 23, following an eight-week stint in theaters. This release date has yet to be officially confirmed by the film's creators.

Produced by C Ashwani Dutt, Swapna Dutt, and Priyanka Dutt under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies, Kalki 2898 AD has garnered significant attention and continues to draw audiences to the cinema. The film will have approximately three more weeks to make its mark at the box office before its digital premiere.

Currently, the film stands as the fifth highest-grossing Indian film of all time, with a total domestic box office collection of Rs 635.95 crore, according to trade website Sacnilk. It is closing in on the fourth position, previously held by Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan, which amassed Rs 640.25 crore. With just Rs 5 crore remaining to surpass this figure, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to achieve this milestone in the coming days.

The film's strong performance has already made it the highest-grossing Indian film of the year, both domestically and internationally.
