Principal photography of Kalki 2898AD film began on July 24, 2021, coinciding with Guru Purnima, at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad, featuring Amitabh Bachchan. The production saw Prabhas and Deepika Padukone joining in December 2021, with key scenes involving the trio being shot.
The second schedule followed in February 2022. Rather than a continuous shoot, the production opted for 7-8 day schedules each month, spanning 80-90 days. This approach allowed meticulous preparation of props and gadgets, extending the overall production timeline.

The film is notable for being the first Indian movie shot with the DIY Arri Alexa 65 camera. Prabhas' solo scenes were delayed from April 2022 due to his knee surgery, affecting his other projects like "Salaar" and "Kalki 2898 AD."
Most of the film, about 90%, was shot at Ramoji Film City. June 2022 saw Bachchan filming at Raidurg metro station, followed by a car chase sequence in Hyderabad with Padukone and Prabhas in July. By the end of this schedule, Prabhas had completed most of his scenes. Filming was projected to conclude by January 2023, with post-production extending another eight months.
Unexpected delays continued, with Bachchan injuring his ribs in March 2023. By June 2023, 70% of the film was completed. A romantic sequence with Prabhas and Disha Patani was filmed in Italy in March 2024, wrapping up principal photography on May 28.
