In the dazzling realm of Indian cinema, Kamal Haasan continues to shine, recently sharing insights about his role in the ambitious film Kalki 2898 AD. During a press conference in Chennai, the veteran actor reflected on his limited screen time in the current installment of the film, stating, "In Kalki, I have played a small role that makes an appearance for a few minutes only. My real part in the film has only begun and I will have more to do in the second part. So, I watched this film as a fan and I was astonished."

Haasan, who portrays Supreme Yaskin, the proclaimed God of the Complex, emphasized the film’s significance in elevating Indian cinema on the global stage. "We have been seeing many signifiers that Indian cinema is moving towards global entertainment, and Kalki 2898 AD is one among them. Nag Ashwin carefully handled the subject of mythology without any religious bias” he stated.
Released on June 27 in multiple languages, Kalki 2898 AD achieved a staggering global box office collection of ₹298.5 crore within just two days. The film, directed by Nag Ashwin, features a star-studded cast including Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Disha Patani.
Looking ahead, Kamal Haasan is set to captivate audiences once more in Indian 2, where he will reprise his role as Senapathy. The film is scheduled for release on July 12.
